MTK - WG Dust Cover with top picatinny rail
The MTK Railed Dust Cover is the ultimate solution for mounting optics on the AK platform. Engineered to military specifications, this WG (Weapon Grade) dust cover delivers rock-solid stability, solving the traditional "zero-holding" issues through its innovative hybrid construction.
Hybrid Construction: Features a phosphated steel main body for maximum durability, combined with a CNC-machined Ergal Picatinny rail and supports.
Heavy-Duty Performance: Rated to support optics and red dots up to 1200g using a single-ring mounting point (or two if movable), ensuring a secure zero even under heavy recoil.
Precision Engineering: Proudly designed and manufactured in Italy for professional and tactical use.
Specs: Designed for sight blocks with a width of 22mm.
Fitment: Compatible with AK series (from AK74M to 200 series), Mil-Spec receivers, and Saiga rifles.
Designed and manufactured for professional operational use according to military specifications. It allows the mounting of collimators and red dots up to 1200g with one fixing point-ring (or two rings if movable along the optic).
Note on Mounting Compatibility: Most red dots and optics using rings are fully compatible. Potential issues may arise with specific commercial optics that feature a fixed dual cross-bolt mounting system (two transversal mounting lugs).
Excerpt from the MTK Technical Report:
“Some military optics, for which this dust cover was specifically designed, feature oversized cross-bolts to achieve a metal-to-metal fit with zero clearance. To maintain the structural rigidity of the Picatinny rail—which serves as a critical stiffening element for the cover—we have maintained the lands at specific tolerances.
Compromising these lands to accommodate all commercial dual-bolt systems would result in removing approximately 8.4mm of stiffening ribs, severely weakening the platform. In professional military-grade optics, a single 'oversized' cross-bolt is generally used to eliminate play, while the second bolt is 'flattened' (as shown in technical references) specifically to avoid tolerance conflicts while maintaining maximum stability.”
